Job summary

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a casual role, Monday to Friday, to join our Allied Health Team across acute and rehabilitation services.

You will assess, intervene and rehabilitate patients, supported by a multidisciplinary team across inpatient wards including ICU, Surgical, Medical, Cardiac, Orthopaedics and Women's Health, plus rehab programs and Cardiac Rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
• New and recent graduates are welcomed to apply.
• Demonstrated ability to provide acute and subacute OT services.
• Knowledge and skills in orthopaedics and neurological rehabilitation desirable.
• Strong, clear communication with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality therapy services adhering to professional standards.
• Undertake OT duties with supervision and professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent care.
• Apply clinical judgment and evidence-based practice to caseloads.
• Provide advice on clinical issues within area of specialty.
• Receive regular support from management and the OT team.

Mater Private Hospital Townsville has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health Team on a casual basis, working Monday to Friday. This role is integral to delivering high-quality patient care across our acute hospital and rehabilitation services.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based assessment, intervention and rehabilitation services to patients across a diverse range of clinical areas. You will have the opportunity to contribute to service development and the ongoing growth of the Occupational Therapy department while working across inpatient wards including ICU, Surgical, Medical, Cardiac, Orthopaedics and Women's Health, as well as our inpatient and day rehabilitation programs and Cardiac Rehabilitation services.

Salary range: $46.11 - $61.86per hour plus 25% casual loadingplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What You'll be doing

• Deliver high quality therapy services in accordance with the AHPRA Professional Standards including the Occupational Therapy Code of Professional Conduct.
• Undertake Occupational Therapy duties with support for clinical practice supervision and professional development opportunities.
• Work alongside an exciting and dynamic multidisciplinary team including allied health colleagues, nursing and medical professionals to collaboratively deliver excellent care.
• Apply independent professional judgement to a clinical caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
• Provide advice to managers and occupational therapy colleagues on clinical issues within the area/s of clinical specialty.
• Support from the Allied Health Manager, Senior Occupational Therapist and the Occupational Therapy team will be available regularly as required.
• Access to professional supervision.

About you

The successful applicant will possess:

• New and recent graduates are welcomed to apply.
• Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
• Demonstrated ability to provide occupational therapy acute and subacute clinical services
• Knowledge, expertise and skill within Orthopaedics and Neurological Rehabilitation desirable.
• Strong and confident communicator, communicating effectively with patients, families and professional colleagues at all times
