Job summary

Knox City Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist on a temporary part-time basis (0.8 EFT) until 30 June 2027, primarily based at the Knox Civic Centre in Wantirna South. The role delivers CHSP OT services across Knox, focusing on helping clients remain independent and safe at home.

The position offers a Band 6 classification, with a pro-rata salary range of AU$102,287.48 to AU$111,713.31 plus superannuation, and flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team on a temporary part-time basis (4 days per week) until 30 June 2027. The role provides Occupational Therapy services to clients within the Knox municipality, referred through the My Aged Care (MAC) Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing client-centred service plans, while working collaboratively with clients, families, carers and home modification stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes. The primary focus of the role is to support clients to maximise their independence, maintain their safety, and remain living comfortably at home and engaged within their community.

This is a temporary part time role until 30 June 2027 (0.8 EFT),primarily based at the Knox Civic Centre in Wantirna South. Knox City Council supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements, while ensuring operational needs are met.

This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $102,287.48 to $111,713.31(pro-rata for part time/ fixed term, depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will bring to this role:

The key selection criteria for this role are:

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the My Aged Care Commonwealth Home Support Programme and the Wellness and Reablement approach.
• Demonstrated understanding of, and sensitivity to, the support needs of older people living at home, and their carers/significant others, including the needs of diverse groups such as people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people living with dementia.
• Experience of effectively engaging clients holistically to ascertain their goals and develop care plans that empower clients to achieve them.
• Demonstrated experience and skills in the provision of Occupational Therapy services within a community-based area of practice, in particular assessment and prescription of home modifications and assistive equipment.
• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent Occupational Therapy Degree
• Grade 2 Occupational Therapist level equivalent, ideally with minimum three years of clinical experience. Occupational Therapy Australia membership (highly desirable)
• Current Victorian drivers license is required this role.
