Job summary

Aster and Sweetpea Services on the Central Coast, NSW, is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist for a contract position based in Long Jetty. You will assess, plan, and deliver tailored OT services to support independence and participation for clients in the community.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, maintain compliant documentation, and stay current with evidence-based practices to ensure high-quality rehab services. Travel and flexible arrangements may be included.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Experience in assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of occupational therapy services.
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles and evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse client populations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and documentation systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Sound clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to professional boundaries and ethical practice.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Preference for aged care, disability services, or community rehabilitation settings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients' functioning.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on client goals and best practice.
  • Deliver evidence-based OT interventions to support ADLs, work, leisure, and social participation.
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment as required.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
  • Provide education to clients and families on adaptive strategies and environmental modifications.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of assessments and progress notes per regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Liaise with external agencies to facilitate referrals and coordination of care.

Aster and Sweetpea Services are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Long Jetty, NSW, this role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients by providing tailored occupational therapy services. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be at the forefront of enabling individuals to achieve independence, wellbeing, and participation in meaningful activities.   • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning
  • Develop individualised treatment plans based on client goals, needs, and best practice guidelines
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to support clients in activities of daily living, work, leisure, and social participation
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress against established goals, adjusting treatment strategies as required
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, social workers, and medical professionals, to ensure coordinated and holistic care
  • Provide education and training to clients and their families or carers regarding adaptive strategies and environmental modifications
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to continuous professional development and stay current with evidence-based practice in occupational therapy and rehabilitation
  • Liaise with external agencies and services to facilitate client referrals and coordination of care

About the Candidate
