Job summary

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District invites applications for a Visiting Medical Officer in General Practice with Obstetrics at Lithgow Hospital. The appointment is a quinquennium through to 30 June 2027, fee-for-service, with on-call duties and potential credentialing across NBMLHD facilities.

Fellows of FRACGP/FACRRM or at least 5 years of relevant experience, plus full AHPRA registration, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Possess or be eligible for full registration with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of FRACGP and/or FACRRM, and/or at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring / audit practices.
• Sound clinical knowledge in General Practice with quality assurance activities.
• High-level interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Assessment, investigation and appropriate care of patients at Lithgow Hospital.
• On-call roster duties.
• Credentialing and privileging across NBMLHD where eligible.
• Support teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.
