Job summary

Voith Hydro is seeking a Preservation Manager for the Snowy 2.0 project in Australia. The role focuses on developing and implementing operation, maintenance, asset preservation, and risk strategies to ensure long-term plant performance.

You will collaborate with teams in Australia and Germany, support commissioning, training, and risk management initiatives. The role requires deep experience in operation and maintenance, preferably in hydropower, with a strong emphasis on maintenance planning,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in operation and maintenance.
• At least 3 years' experience in a hydropower or power generation plant.
• Strong understanding of maintenance planning, reliability, and asset lifecycle management.
• Exposure to operational risk management and ISO 31000 principles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create Maintenance Management Plan for whole power plant.
• Coordinate within Engineering Team in Germany and Cooma.
• Lead Maintenance during Construction where necessary.
• Train for predictive maintenance, maintenance of components (class room & practical).
• Organize and prepare Customer training in collaboration with training manager and ensure quality of training manuals.
• Participate in Risk Management and support ISO 31000 risk management processes.
• Identify, assess, and monitor operation and maintenance-related risks.

Responsible for developing and implementing operation, maintenance, asset preservation, and risk management strategies to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient long-term performance of the Snowy 2.0 power plant. The role works closely with engineering teams in Australia and Germany to establish maintenance frameworks, support commissioning and early operations, develop training programs, and contribute to operational risk management processes.

Location : Lobs Hole

Key Tasks

• Create Maintenance Management Plan for whole power plant
• Collect and improve maintenance steps / tasks out of Operation and Maintenance Manuals
• Collect and improve operational tasks and description out of OMM improve
• Create Schedule to ensure predictive Maintenance
• Create / improve preservation strategy in regard to life time cycle
• Lead Maintenance during Construction where necessary
• Coordination within Engineering Team in Germany and Cooma
• Training for predictive maintenance, maintenance of components (class room training as well as practical trainings
• Organize and prepare Customer training in collaboration with training manager and ensure quality of training manuals
• Participate in Risk Management
• Support compliance with ISO 31000 risk management principles and Voith risk management processes.
• Identify, assess, and monitor operation and maintenance-related risks
• Ensure risk mitigation actions are tracked and implemented in accordance with project requirements.

Project Information:

Snowy 2.0 is a major expansion of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme. When completed, it will deliver 2,000 megawatts of on-demand renewable energy and approximately 350,000 megawatt-hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market. Voith is the selected subcontractor for this work, and the Preservation Manager role is directly tied to this landmark project.
