Job summary

Calvary Riverina has a rewarding opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) to lead our combined palliative care and rehabilitation ward and outpatient rehab service. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with clinical leadership and budget oversight across the ward.

You will supervise diverse teams, drive quality improvements, ensure safety standards, and support workforce planning including rostering and recruitment. AHPRA registration and relevant nursing qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary nursing qualifications.
• Current AHPRA registration.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in public/private acute care.
• Experience as a senior clinical leader with diverse teams.
• Understanding of quality improvements and accreditation standards.
• Experience in change management and workforce engagement.

About the role

Calvary Riverina has the exciting opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) to join our clinical leadership team as manager of our combined palliative care and rehabilitation ward, including our outpatient rehabilitation service. This is a full time position working across business hours Monday to Friday.

Your main duties will include:

• Clinical leadership and patient care oversight, ensuring safe, high quality nursing care while setting clinical standards and supervising nursing practice
• Staff management and workforce planning including rostering, recruitment, performance management, education and ensuring appropriate skill mix
• Management of ward flow (admissions, discharges, bed allocation), oversight of resources and budgets, and drive quality improvement, compliance and patient safety initiatives

About you

• Relevant tertiary nursing qualifications
• Current AHPRA registration
• Current Working with Children Check
• A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in public and/or private acute healthcare sector
• Proven experience as senior clinical leader level including leadership of diverse interdisciplinary teams
• Demonstrated understanding of quality improvements and accreditation standards
• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary rehabilitation practice and programs and/or palliative care is desirable
• Proven experience managing key performance indicators within budget
• Experience in change management, facilitating a positive workplace culture and workforce engagement
