Job summary

Medrecruit Limited is seeking a Locum Consultant/Specialist Obstetrician (or GP/Rural Generalist Obstetrician) for a short-term placement at a community rural hospital on the mid-North Coast of New South Wales. The assignment runs 9 to 13 November 2026 and includes travel and accommodation.

You may also have neonatal resuscitation skills, with current AHPRA registration, to deliver obstetric services in a 81-bed facility with 24-hour ED supported by career medical officers.

• Must hold current AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric care as a Consultant/Specialist or GP Rural Generalist Obstetrician.
• Support neonatal resuscitation as needed in a 24-hour ED setting.

Job description

Locum cover is required from 9 - 13 November 2026.

• Consultant/Specialist/VMO
• GP / Rural Generalist Obstetrician or Consultant Specialist Obstetrician (with neonatal resuscitation skills).
• Travel and accommodation is included.

Please note that all rates are inclusive of superannuation, taxes, and casual loading, where applicable.

This is a local community, level 3 rural hospital located on the mid-North Coast of New South Wales (NSW).

The hospital is comprised of 81 beds, 10 of which are used for voluntary mental health. There is a 24-hour Emergency Department that is staffed by local GP VMOs supplemented by career medical officers.
