Job summary

The Mater Hospital in North Sydney is seeking an Assistant in Nursing for a casual position in the McQuoin Ward. You will support the nursing team in a busy surgical department and work across a 24/7 roster, reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager.

Applicants should be enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing (2nd year) or a Diploma of Nursing (2nd stage), hold a Certificate 3 in Health Service Assistance, and demonstrate fundamental clinical skills. Acute-care experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Bachelor of Nursing (2nd year).
• Enrolled in a Diploma of Nursing (2nd stage).
• Certificate 3 in Health Service Assistance.
• Completes fundamental clinical skills to assist the RN/EN workforce.
• Flexible and available to work on a 24/7 rotating roster.
• Previous experience in an acute healthcare area is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Allocated to McQuoin Ward, a surgical orthopaedics ward, reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager and integrating into the nursing team.
• Assist nursing staff in delivering basic care in a busy surgical department.
