Job summary

Lifeblood is seeking a Nursing Assistant in Victoria to support donors throughout the donation process. Full training is provided, with a focus on delivering an exceptional donor experience and working across a rotating roster and regional travel.

You will greet donors, perform basic checks, set up equipment, and assist with the collection of blood products. This role emphasizes teamwork and a customer‑facing mindset.

Qualifications

• No prior blood collection experience required.

About the role

Step into a rewarding role as a Nursing Assistant where you will bring excellent customer-facing skills and a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to our donors.

You will play a key role in supporting our donors through their donation process. Full training is provided so, along with the above, all you need is the curiosity and motivation to learn the process of collecting blood and biological product.

A day in the centre could see you:

• Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
• Create a donor experience they'll love and want to come back Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
• Set up machines and collections equipment
• Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
• Monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking their next donation
• Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets

No previous blood collection experience is required. Our paid training program blends hands‑on practice with online learning to set you up for success. What's essential is your passion for delivering an exceptional donor experience, supported by proven customer-facing experience that you can draw on in every interaction.

Your skills in action will include:

• Apply your customer-facing experience to create positive, welcoming interactions
• Be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
• Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
• Support and foster a fantastic team culture
• Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
• Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Saturday/Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts

Note: Regular regional travel is a key requirement of this role, with travel across Victoria's East including Sale, Warragul, Leongatha, Bairnsdale, Wonthaggi, Rosebud and Benalla. Travel typically occurs 1-2 weeks per month and can include overnight stays of 3 nights during the week.
