Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is seeking an Early Years practitioner for a term-time position in a family-run nursery rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

The setting provides a safe, caring environment with a varied curriculum, outdoor garden space, and daily active learning. Applicants should hold Level 3 EYFS or higher and demonstrate strong communication with children and families.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
  • Previous experience in a nursery or Early Years setting.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development.
  • Confidence creating engaging experiences across different areas of learning.
  • Good understanding of supporting school readiness without losing the importance of play.
  • Enthusiasm for outdoor learning and physical development.
  • Creative, warm and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication with children, families and colleagues.
  • Good safeguarding and child protection knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Plan experiences around children’s interests and individual stages of development.
  • Support early literacy and numeracy through engaging, age-appropriate activities.
  • Encourage creativity, imagination and problem-solving.
  • Help children develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude toward learning.
  • Support children to take part in specialist-led activities and build on these experiences.
  • Make regular use of the nursery’s garden and outdoor equipment.
  • Encourage physical development through movement and outdoor exploration.
  • Observe progress and plan meaningful next steps.
  • Build positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Work with colleagues to maintain Outstanding standards.

Job description

  • Level 3 Up to £32,000 per year | Term Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00am–4:00pm Early Years should give children plenty to be curious about
  • whether they’re creating something new, discovering how things work or simply seeing where their imagination takes them.

This Outstanding Ofsted-rated, family-run nursery provides a safe and caring environment where children can enjoy learning, develop their confidence and build a positive approach to school.

The setting combines a nurturing, close-knit atmosphere with a varied curriculum designed to give children a broad range of experiences throughout their Early Years.

There’s also a lovely garden used every day, with outdoor equipment and plenty of opportunities for active play, exploration and fun

  • ensuring learning isn’t limited to the nursery room.
What We’re Looking For
  • A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
  • Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development
  • Confidence creating engaging experiences across different areas of learning
  • A good understanding of supporting school readiness without losing the importance of play
  • Enthusiasm for outdoor learning and physical development
  • A creative, warm and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication skills with children, families and colleagues
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
