Job summary

Healthcare Australia is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead a General Ward in Adelaide's northern suburbs. This full-time role reports to senior clinical leadership and focuses on delivering safe, high-quality patient care, staff development and operational excellence.

You will oversee day-to-day ward operations, drive continuous improvement, and mentor a skilled nursing team within a Not-for-Profit hospital environment, with Monday–Friday roster and professional development

Qualifications

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Experience in nursing leadership within an acute hospital environment
Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety
Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop nursing teams
Strong workforce planning and operational management capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management

Responsibilities

Provide visible clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the inpatient ward
Lead, mentor and develop nursing staff, including performance management
Support workforce planning, rostering and resource management
Promote culture of patient safety and continuous improvement
Drive quality improvement initiatives and accreditation and governance
Collaborate with medical, allied health and multidisciplinary teams
Monitor patient care outcomes and identify improvement opportunities
Contribute to service planning and ward development
