Job summary

Northern NSW Local Health District is seeking motivated Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Transitional Nurse Practitioners (TNPs) to join our growing Older Persons and Psychogeriatrics team within the Tweed Valley.

Permanent Full Time or Part Time positions available, up to 38 hours per week, with a pro rata salary range of $149,408.12 - $169,429.03 per annum. Applicants must have current AHPRA registration and be endorsed as an NP or eligible for TNP.

Qualifications

• Registered as Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA or eligible for Transitional Nurse Practitioner
• Demonstrated advanced clinical practice in the main metaspecialty
• Ability to develop your Scope of Practice to improve patient access to care
• Proven communication and teamwork skills with professional boundaries

About You

We’re looking for someone who has current AHPRA registration and is endorsed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or meets the requirements for a Transitional Nurse Practitioner application.

Nurse Practitioners

• Demonstrated Advanced Clinical Practice in the main Metaspecialty, focusing on complex, autonomous decision-making in the clinical management of patients.
• Demonstrated willingness in the development of your Scope of Practice to improve access to healthcare for patients and their carers.
• Demonstrated effective communication and teamwork skills, building strong relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Demonstrated leadership and educational activities in your current role.
• Demonstrated ability to support health care systems and research.

Transitional Nurse Practitioners

• Developing skills and knowledge in advanced clinical practice within the main Metaspecialty, with experience in autonomous decision-making and clinical management of patients.
• Lead and participate in educational activities including staff and patients; contribute to quality improvement activities in the support of health care systems.
• Willingness to develop a Scope of Practice across multimodal specialities.
