Northern NSW Local Health District is seeking motivated Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Transitional Nurse Practitioners (TNPs) to join the Older Persons and Psychogeriatrics team in the Tweed Valley. Roles involve inpatient settings across Emergency Departments and acute hospital services.

Northern NSW Local Health District is seeking motivated and innovative Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Transitional Nurse Practitioners (TNPs) to join our growing Older Persons and Psychogeriatrics team within the Tweed Valley.

These exciting positions form part of an integrated hub-and-spoke model of care as a Rural Generalists, delivering health care services across a variety of settings, that predominantly involve the inpatient setting and may also include:

Emergency Departments

Acute hospital services

Virtual and outreach care

About You We’re looking for someone who has current AHPRA registration and is endorsed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or meets the requirements for a Transitional Nurse Practitioner application.

Nurse Practitioners:

Demonstrated Advanced Clinical Practice in the main Metaspecialty, focusing on complex, autonomous decision-making in the clinical management of patients.

Demonstrated willingness in the development of your Scope of Practice to improve access to healthcare for patients and their carers.

Demonstrated effective communication and teamwork skills, building strong relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.

Demonstrated leadership and educational activities in your current role.

Demonstrated ability to support health care systems and research.

Developing skills and knowledge in advanced clinical practice within the main Metaspecialty, with experience in autonomous decision-making and clinical management of patients.

Lead and participate in educational activities including staff and patients; contribute to quality improvement activities in the support of health care systems.

Willingness to develop a Scope of Practice across multimodal specialities.
