Job summary

The GEO Group Australia’s Fulham Correctional Centre seeks a Nurse Practitioner to deliver primary health nursing services. The role operates at an advanced practice level, offering specialist advice and treatment orders within a multidisciplinary team.

Fixed-Task Part-time (0.8 FTE, 4 days per week) with pro-rata salary and superannuation, located at FCC in Fulham. Applicants must hold AHPRA endorsements for RN and NP and NMBA-recognized Master’s degree.

Qualifications

• Current endorsement as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Current endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA.
• At least five years post basic experience in nursing with advanced nursing practice in medical emergency management, primary health care and chronic disease management would be advantageous.
• Commitment to professional development and training in relation to primary health care.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including computer literacy.
• Advanced problem solving, communication, conflict resolution, negotiation skills and ability to work in a team with multiple stakeholders to achieve high standards of patient care.
• Experience in teaching and providing health education to patients and clinicians.
• Successful completion of, undertaking or prepared to undertake NMBA approved Master’s Degree (Nurse Practitioner).

Responsibilities

• Provide primary health nurse practitioner services at Fulham Correctional Centre.
• Operate at an advanced clinical practice level and within approved scope of practice.
• Provide specialist advice and treatment orders for patients, implemented by multidisciplinary team.
