Job summary

Queensland Health’s Rockhampton Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Candidate for a 24-month fixed-term, part-time role starting January 2027. You’ll work across the Emergency Department, building autonomous NP skills with mentorship and professional development opportunities.

You’ll lead, teach and participate in research and quality improvement, contributing to the growing NP-led Fast Track service once endorsed and supported by a strong multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration.
  • Enrolled in a Master of Nurse Practitioner program and working towards NP endorsement.
  • 4+ years of advanced nursing practice at Clinical Nurse Specialist level or above in an ED (regional or tertiary).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Emergency or Acute Care is required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced nursing care across the Emergency Department for a wide range of presentations and acuity.
  • Lead, mentor and support research and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to a 7-day NP-led Fast Track service once endorsed.
