Job summary

Townsville Hospital and Health Service seeks a Nurse Practitioner within the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service (ATODS) to deliver advanced, person-centred care for individuals, families and communities affected by substance use. This role requires biopsychosocial assessments, evidence-based interventions, and a focus on reducing harm across diverse populations within THHS.

The Nurse Practitioner will lead care coordination, support staff capability development, contribute to research

Qualifications

• Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) and AHPRA registration required.
• Nurse Practitioner credentialing every 3 years after commencement.
• Possession of a Class C driver’s licence is required.
• Role involves a Vaccine Preventable Disease risk environment.
• Probation period and pre-employment checks may apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced nursing care with biopsychosocial assessments.
• Provide evidence-based interventions and harm-reduction support.
• Lead care coordination within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to education.
