Job summary

The Kuttabul Health Centre within Bupa is seeking a permanent full-time Nurse Coordinator to provide clinical leadership and manage operations at this Defence Force health facility in Woolloomooloo, Sydney. You will drive patient care, safety, and team performance in a high-standard environment.

You will bring post-graduate nursing or health management qualifications, Australian citizenship, and at least 5 years’ experience as a Div 1 RN with full AHPRA registration.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate Qualifications in Nursing or Health Management.
• Australian citizenship required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Div 1 RN.
• Full AHPRA registration.
• Defence experience highly regarded.
• Proficient with healthcare IT and electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate clinical operations at Kuttabul Health Centre.
• Prepare members for deployment and global exercises.
• Coordinate vaccination parades and triage within a Primary Health Care Team.
• Oversee complex clinical and managerial situations.
• Investigate clinical incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Review and update SOPs.
• Assist in rostering and supervision of Ward nursing and Defence Force staff.
• Oversee department rosters and staff allocation.

Kuttabul Health Centre is located at HMAS Kuttabul in Woolloomooloo and delivers a range of health services to Defence personnel.

About the Role:

We are seeking a permanent full-time Nurse Coordinator.

As a Nurse Coordinator in Kuttabul Health Centre, you will provide clinical and professional leadership in the Health Centre including:

• Supporting operational capability by preparing members for global employability/deployment and exercises
• Coordinating and participating in vaccination parades, sick parade, triage of members within a Primary Health Care Team model, Staff development, Performance appraisals
• Overseeing and facilitating complex situations including clinical, managerial, and educational contexts e.g. assistance with emergency medical responses, clinical review, and complaint resolution
• Investigation of clinical incidents to include review and corrective actions in conjunction with health centre management
• Review and update of department SOPs
• Assist in coordinating roster, staffing levels and supervision of the Ward nursing and Defence Force staff, to enable the provision of high standard of health care
• Oversight of department rosters and coordination of staff allocation

You will:

• Be an adept relationship-builder with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to provide regular coaching and feedback to your team
• Be a proven leader who is resilient and adaptable to changing healthcare environments
• Show an innate ability to connect processes, systems and people with the big picture while making sure all the detail is in place
• Leadership and management experience is essential – you may have been acting in a team leader or 2IC role and are ready to make the move permanently or you might be wanting to further develop your leadership skills with a global health leader

You will also:

• Possess post Graduate Qualifications in Nursing or Health Management or working toward same
• Be an Australian Citizen
• Have at least 5 years’ experience as a Div 1 RN
• Have full AHPRA registration
• Previous Defence experience will be highly regarded
• Proficient in computer operation systems in healthcare as ADF uses multiple platforms for electronic healthcare records
