Job summary

Wollert Secondary College seeks a Numeracy Learning Specialist to provide whole-school leadership to strengthen numeracy teaching, intervention and student growth. The role will lead Tier 1 and Tier 2 numeracy efforts and build staff capability in numeracy teaching, differentiation, assessment and data use.

The successful applicant will work with the Inclusion Team to identify students needing targeted numeracy support and deliver evidence-informed interventions to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching across literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to use data to inform teaching and to provide feedback on student growth.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, staff, parents and the community.
• Ability to lead professional learning and coach teachers within a school setting.
• Commitment to department values and reflective practice in professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level teaching practice and model lessons.
• Lead teaching demonstrations and mentor other teachers.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop effective curriculum planning and delivery.
• Provide evidence-based feedback to staff and use student data to inform instruction.
• Develop and promote school-wide professional learning structures and communities.
