About the Company

Our client is a growing Australian food manufacturer with an expanding product portfolio and continued focus on product development and commercial growth.

The business is continuing to develop and improve its product range, creating an opportunity for an experienced Food Technologist to join the technical team and play a hands‑on role across product development projects.

About the Role

The Food Technologist will support product development projects from initial concept through to commercialisation. The role will have strong involvement across formulation, laboratory trials, product optimisation, troubleshooting and production scale‑up.

This is a hands‑on opportunity for a Food Technologist who enjoys working across different stages of the product development process and seeing projects through to commercial production.

Key responsibilities

• Developing and optimising food product formulations
• Supporting new product development and existing product improvement projects
• Conducting laboratory trials, testing and sensory evaluations
• Supporting ingredient and formulation selection
• Troubleshooting formulation, processing, stability, sensory and manufacturing issues
• Preparing formulations, specifications, trial reports and technical documentation
• Supporting pilot plant and production trials
• Assisting with product scale‑up and commercialisation
• Managing multiple projects and competing priorities
• Working closely with internal teams across technical, production and quality
• Liaising with customers and suppliers where required
• Taking projects from bench development through to commercial production

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in Food Technology, NPD, Applications or a related technical role
• Strong experience within food manufacturing and product development
• Experience with food formulation and product optimisation
• Good understanding of food ingredients, processing and manufacturing
• Experience supporting products from bench scale through to commercial production
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Good understanding of sensory evaluation and product performance
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
• A hands‑on approach with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership
