Job summary

Language Trainers is seeking a native Norwegian-speaking tutor for one-to-one lessons with a 25–34 year-old student in Sydney CBD. The flexible freelance, part-time role offers lessons at the student’s preferred venues, including the tutor’s office/home or public locations in Sydney.

Start date is ASAP and the hourly rate is negotiable based on experience. Ideal candidates hold a Norwegian teaching qualification or equivalent experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter, and must

Qualifications

• Native Norwegian speaker or qualified teacher.
• Experience teaching languages, or translating/interpreting would help.
• Must have valid work permit/visa and live within 30 km of Sydney CBD.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one Norwegian tutoring sessions.
• Schedule weekly sessions (Tuesday or Thursday, 6 PM onwards).
• Prepare materials and track student progress.

Position Details

• Session length: two hours (total of 15 x 2-hour sessions)
• Location: at the teacher's (your) office/home or a public location in Sydney CBD
• Student:25-34 y/o gentleman
• Current language level: Beginner
• Schedule: once per week, either on Tuesdays or Thursdays, 6 PM onwards.
• Start Date: as soon as possible
• Motivation: "I am looking to move to Norway in the new year for work."

Ideal Candidate

• Be a native Norwegian speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification
• Have experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter
• Have a valid work permit/visa
• Live within 30 km of the specified location
