Overview

Multicap Tasmania is a leading disability services provider with growing operations across Tasmania. The organisation is evolving from a traditional charity model to contemporary practice. Our participant base has grown both in numbers and diversity, and we now support people with a broad range of disabilities statewide, from Smithton to St Helens to Hobart.

We are currently seeking applications for a Non-Executive Board Director. As a member of the Multicap Tasmania board, you will require understanding of contemporary disability practice, value lived experience, and guide strategic decisions that balance commercial sustainability with a commitment to inclusive values. Multicap Tasmania is a registered charity, a not-for-profit provider and an NDIS registered provider.

Experience and qualifications

We are seeking experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • CEO or Executive Management experience in the sector with specialisation in Information technology
  • People and culture
  • Corporate governance
  • Disability sector practice and experience in areas such as Systems advocacy
  • Government relations
  • Sector and community engagement
  • Health, allied health, or clinical governance
  • Lived experience of disability: expressions of interest from those with lived experience – either personal, family, or through disability advocacy.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our board of remunerated directors and to be part of our organisation’s future. Board Directors can attend meetings virtually or in person, with some events expected to take place during the year.

The position is available to anyone living in the State of Tasmania. New directors will join colleagues from across Tasmania: 1 from the Northwest Coast, 2 from Launceston, and 5 from Hobart.
