Northrop Grumman Australia is seeking an experienced NDT inspector to support the RAAF C‑27J Spartan fleet at Amberley. You will perform multi-method NDT inspections in a Defence environment, ensuring safe, serviceable aircraft and compliant documentation.

Prior defence aviation exposure or ex-RAAF is highly valued. You will work with AMEs, crew leads and engineers, contributing to defect identification, reporting, and improvement initiatives while operating under Baseline AGSVA security

Qualificações

• Aviation NDT experience within a regulated environment is essential.
• Ex-RAAF defence aviation exposure is preferred; otherwise extensive fixed-wing NDT aviation experience.
• Experience with multiple NDT methods aligned to EN4179/NAS410 and structured maintenance.

The Role:

Northrop Grumman Australia supports the RAAF C‑27J Spartan fleet. The C‑27J Spartan supports real-world missions, from disaster relief to regional operations.

This role sits within Base Maintenance at RAAF Base Amberley. You will perform critical inspections that keep aircraft safe and mission ready.

This is not a narrow scope NDT role as you will work across multiple inspection methods, not just one.

You will operate in a structured, compliant Defence environment. Processes are clear, expectations are known, and standards matter.

You will work closely with AMEs, Crew Leads, and engineering teams. Your input directly supports defect identification and resolution.

The work is varied across Line and Heavy Maintenance activities. Each job brings different challenges, not repetitive tasks.

Australian Citizenship and Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline AGSVA security clearance are mandatory to be considered for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

You will contribute across inspection, reporting, and team delivery activities:

• Perform NDT inspections across multiple approved inspection methods
• Deliver accurate, compliant inspection outcomes aligned to maintenance documentation
• Identify defects and support technical reporting and resolution
• Plan and execute inspection tasks within scheduled maintenance activities
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with crew and supervisors
• Support safe, on‑time delivery of serviceable aircraft
• Contribute to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement activities
• Assist with documentation, tool control, and maintenance system updates

About You

You bring strong aviation experience within a regulated environment. Ideally, you are ex‑RAAF with Defence aviation exposure. If not, you bring extensive fixed‑wing NDT aviation experience.

You are confident working across multiple NDT certification aligned to EN4179/NAS410 methods. You understand structured maintenance and approved documentation systems. You value safety, compliance, and doing the job properly. You are reliable in teams and communicate clearly under pressure.

You prefer environments with clear processes and defined standards. You want varied work rather than repetitive inspection tasks.

You take pride in delivering safe, serviceable aircraft outcomes.
