Remuneration: $262,376 - $323,777 per annum full time equivalent depending on experience

Provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist General Surgery services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care. Provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Where you'll be working

This is an exciting opportunity to join Tweed Valley Hospital, your primary work location and a new, major referral hospital at the heart of the network of hospitals and health facilities across the Tweed-Byron region.

The new state of the art facility includes:

  • more operating theatres and recovery spaces
  • expanded emergency department
  • enhanced medical, surgical, and mental health services
  • enhanced ambulatory care services including more outpatient clinics
  • new interventional cardiology service
  • new radiotherapy service as part of a new integrated cancer care service.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a General Surgeon, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Surgery at the role delineation of the service that enhances the current general surgical services
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
  • Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
