Job summary

The Wish Group in Clayton is seeking a dedicated Community Support Officer for night shifts and weekend work on casual terms. You will engage with students, monitor safety and wellbeing, and respond to incidents across campus housing areas.

Applicants should hold first aid, police check, WWCC, and mental health first aid certificates, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Flexible rosters and on-call resources are provided.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current National Police Check.
• Mental Health First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain – can be supported by TWG to undertake training).
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Experience in risk management / problem solving.
• Superior decision-making and documentation skills.
• Experience working with people with mental health challenges.
• Excellent communication and engagement skills.
• Comfortable with IT.
• Ability to work weekends, public holiday and rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Proactive engagement with students.
• Incident management and reporting.
• Work alongside other team member to ensure the safety and general wellbeing of the students.
• Provide comprehensive handovers to incoming staff.
• First point of contact for students and residential advisors overnight and on weekends.
