Job summary

Ello Care in New South Wales is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker for night shifts and sleepovers to assist participants with psychosocial disabilities in Supported Independent Living homes. You will provide tailored overnight care to promote safety, routine and independence.

You will collaborate with the care team, document overnight observations, manage personal care and medications, and respond calmly to emergencies while upholding NDIS Practice Standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or willingness to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Empathetic and compassionate nature
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in accordance with individualised care plans
• Assist clients with evening and overnight routines, including personal care and medication management
• Remain available and responsive throughout the night, whether for active support or sleepover shift
• Maintain accurate overnight records and communicate relevant updates to the care team
• Support emergency situations calmly and effectively if they arise during the shift
• Demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect towards the unique needs and preferences of each individual
• Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their voices are heard and valued
