Job summary

Healius in Melbourne is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for night shift (11pm–7am) to support pathology workflows. You will accurately receive, register, and dispatch specimens, while handling enquiries and ensuring timely processing to maintain turnaround times.

We value meticulous data entry, team collaboration and adherence to WHS policies. Relevant laboratory or healthcare exposure is welcome; immunisation including Hepatitis B is required.

Qualifications

• Previous lab or healthcare experience is welcome.
• Immunisation evidence including Hepatitis B required.
• High accuracy, time management and following procedures are valued.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and process specimens with high accuracy
• Register specimens in laboratory systems
• Prepare and dispatch specimens to core labs on time
• Handle enquiries via phone and shared mailboxes
• Coordinate urgent specimen handling and courier collections
• Maintain laboratory records and filing
• Participate in routine quality activities and follow procedures
• Ensure WHS compliance and a safe environment
