Job summary

Novotel Devonport in Tasmania is seeking a dedicated Night Auditor to join our overnight team on a full-time or part-time basis. You will handle night audit procedures, guest check-ins/outs, and ensure a secure, smooth handover to the morning team.

You will work a night shift 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, with flexibility for weekdays, weekends and public holidays. A strong focus on guest satisfaction, safety and accuracy is required to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Be a night owl who enjoys working with a team.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent time management and ability to work autonomously.
• Hands-on team player with a can-do attitude.
• Willingness to take ownership and carry out tasks as required.
• Knowledge of finance and accounting practices is a plus.
• RSA certificate is required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Welcome late-arrival guests and assist with early departures.
• Ensure smooth overnight operation and guest safety.
• Take initiative for positive guest interactions.
• Reconcile hotel trading and prepare reports and audits.
• Distribute relevant reports to departments.
• Manage and confirm in-house guest reservations and accounts.
• Provide efficient check-in and check-out service.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

• Welcoming our late arrival guests and farewell to our early departures.
• Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Hotel’s overnight operation, maintaining guest satisfaction and the safety and security of the property.
• Taking initiative to ensure positive and productive interactions with our customers.
• Undertake the daily reconciliation of the Hotel’s trading, including checking and preparing reports, completing audits, and collating the necessary paperwork for departures.
• Prepare and distribute relevant reports to relevant departments.
• Managing and confirming reservation details and accounts for in-house guest details ensuring all details are recorded accurately.
• Providing efficient service for guest registration and departure by checking in and out guests as required.
• Maximising guest satisfaction as well as the safety and security of the property.
• Attending to guests' requests efficiently and effectively to ensure total customer satisfaction.

• A good understanding of finance and accounting practices
• The ability to coordinate multiple tasks whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Your Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
• Knowledge of Opera Cloud is a bonus
• Full Tasmanian Drivers License
• An ability to work 11:00 pm to 7:00 am and the flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays
