Job summary

Cairns Harbourside Hotel on Cairns Esplanade is seeking an experienced Night Auditor to deliver outstanding customer service, balance books and perform essential accounting tasks during late-night shifts. You will process payments, check guests in/out, handle wake-up calls, and operate the night audit systems, coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth overnight operations.

Ideal candidates possess strong customer service, problem solving, and time management skills, plus accounting

Qualifications

• Excellent customer relations, problem solving, decision making and time management skills.
• Accounting and mathematics skills for auditing and payment processing.
• Cash handling experience for counting and securing bank and processing cash payments.
• Familiarity with Opera & PMS software.
• Ability to work overnight shifts (11pm–7am) and weekends/public holidays.
• Unlimited and unrestricted working rights for working in Australia.

Job description

Our hotel never sleeps. So, we’re looking for an experienced Night Auditor to provide customer service support, balance the books and perform other essential accounting tasks to help us stay one step ahead of tomorrow during our late-night shifts.

A bit about the role…

Every shift is a little different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Processing payments including room charges, debit and credit, cash and cheques in accordance with established procedures
• Checking guests in, out and managing any wake-up call requests
• Answering phones and dealing with overnight guest queries
• Running night audit property management systems or manual equivalents
• Performing other duties such as concierge services and special guest requests
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to achieve positive guest outcomes
• Stay one step ahead of guest needs and use your 'Can Do' attitude to respond to requests and queries

You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the hotel guests overnight and communicating with Hotel Senior Leadership Team in the event of any serious emergency, security or health & safety matter.
