Job summary

Austin Health is offering a 24-month fixed-term, full-time graduate Dietitian role with two rotations. The program starts in the Repatriation inpatient/ambulatory care streams and then moves to the Specialist Medicine stream at the acute campus.

You will be mentored by senior dietitians and engage in professional development opportunities. You will work across inpatient wards and outpatient clinics, with potential involvement in research and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Be qualified to practice as a dietitian in Australia as recognised by Dietitians Australia (DA) and meet the criteria for the Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) program.
• Graduate from a Bachelor or Masters of Dietetics Course in, or after, December 2025.
• Have 6 months or less of clinical practice in a hospital setting.
• Be enthusiastic, self-motivated, reflective and willing to learn.
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be hardworking with exemplar organisational skills including efficient workload management and ability to prioritise.
• Have effective nutrition counselling skills and a commitment to patient centred care.

Responsibilities

• Work across two-year rotational streams with supervision from an experienced dietitian.
• In year one, operate in Repatriation Inpatient and Ambulatory Care streams (Repat campus) and year two in Specialist Medicine stream (acute campus).
• Provide inpatient and outpatient nutrition support across wards and clinics as allocated.
• Contribute to stream-based quality improvement initiatives and research, including patient education resource development.
