Qualifications

  • 7+ years in high performance enterprise or datacentre networking roles, with hardware, design and configuration
  • Australian citizen, willing to obtain security clearances where required
  • Expertise in secure networks, gov security compliance, BGP/IS-IS, and subnetting
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools and SDN concepts
  • Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Nokia routing platforms
  • Experience installing/managing physical assets in datacentres and cabling
  • Monitoring, DR planning, and recovery operations of networks
  • Strong grounding in network security, segmentation, and zero-trust models
  • Knowledge of Linux networking, hybrid cloud, and Kubernetes CNI
  • Proactive, scale-up mindset; CCNP/CCIE highly regarded

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and manage data centre network infrastructure across multiple vendors
  • Contribute to secure network design and policy development
  • Develop procedures for secure operation in the environment

  • Build and maintain Layer 2/3 topologies, routing (BGP/IS-IS), EVPN
  • Implement and manage VPNs, segmentation, and access controls
  • Collaborate with cloud/systems teams for optimized traffic in Kubernetes environments
  • Monitor, troubleshoot latency and packet loss; document issues and changes
  • Maintain network diagrams and change records; participate in incident analysis
  • Contribute to infrastructure‑as‑code networking automation

Location: Melbourne
The role:

As part of the Network Team, you will help build and scale our network infrastructure from core design to hands-on implementation to support ResetData’s high performance GPU and AI data centre workloads. You’ll play a cross-functional role in AIF1, our flagship site in Docklands. You’ll implement secure, reliable, and scalable networks across a facility with rapidly expanding GPU capacity.

You will work closely with our cloud and product engineering teams to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance of mission critical systems. This is a hands-on role with room to help shape the backbone of a next-gen infrastructure company.

What you’ll do:
  • Design, configure, and manage data centre network infrastructure using routers, switches, and firewalls from a variety of vendors including Arista, FortiNet, Juniper, Nokia, and Palo Alto.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of secure networks.
  • Contribute to the development of policies/procedures/protocols for working in a secure environment.
  • Support the development of high-performance data centre and edge networking architectures for GPUaaS platforms.
  • Build and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 topologies, routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, EVPN), and VLAN configurations.
  • Implement and manage secure remote access (VPN), network segmentation, and access control policies.
  • Collaborate with cloud and systems teams to optimise network traffic flows for containerised (Kubernetes-based) environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, proactively resolving latency, packet loss, and configuration issues.
  • Maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and change management records.
  • Participate in network-related incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code efforts where applicable for networking automation and repeatability.
  • Stay up to date with evolving network technologies, security best practices, and open networking solutions
What you’ll bring:
  • Around 7+ years of experience in high performance enterprise or datacentre networking roles, with experience in hardware, design and configuration from day 0 ,1 ,2+ operations
  • You’re an Australian citizen with willingness to obtain security clearances where required.
  • Expertise in complex secure networking environments, with adherence to compliance of government network security, routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS), and subnetting
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools and SDN (Software-Defined Networking) concepts
  • Experience in Palo Alto firewalls, Fortinet Firewalls and Nokia routing platforms.
  • Experience installing and managing physical assets in datacentres, including equipment in racks and associated cabling work.
  • Experience in monitoring, DR planning, recovery operations of the network.
  • Solid grounding in network security, segmentation, and zero-trust networking models
  • Knowledge of Linux networking, hybrid cloud environments, and container networking (e.g., CNI plugins in Kubernetes) is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent documentation habits.
  • Cisco certification (e.g. CCNP or CCIE) and/or Nvidia Cumulus experience is highly regarded
