Mulungu Aboriginal Corporation Primary Health Care Service is a proud Aboriginal Community Controlled Organization dedicated to improving health outcomes and overall wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our Culture Care Connect program operates within the Social Services Team, focusing on addressing the social needs of our community and enhancing access to culturally appropriate services.

Position Overview

The Network Coordinator for Culture Care Connect is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for the coordination and management of a suicide prevention network tailored to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This position will work closely with the General Manager of Social Services to ensure effective planning, coordination, and implementation of suicide prevention strategies across our designated service areas.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, alongside proven leadership skills in the health care sector.

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination and community-led planning.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to advocate effectively for client needs and navigate complex service environments.
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence, Working with Children - Blue Card and current National Police Check.
Selection Criteria

SC 1 Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures.

SC 2 Demonstratable high-level leadership skills and experience.

SC 3 Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.

SC 4 Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap Outcome 14.

SC 5 Demonstrated understanding of culturally responsive and safe Social and Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health interventions.
