AusNet Services Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Network Controller in Training within our Transmission Operations Team. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining stability and security of Victoria's electrical transmission power grid while learning on the job.

Location: Melbourne CBD on-site with shift work. The role offers mentorship from senior controllers and a clear path to becoming a Senior Network Controller, shaping Victoria’s energy future.

Qualifications

• Understanding of network operations and risk management.
• Knowledge of the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM).
• Knowledge of network protection elements and remedial action schemes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network and asset risks, anomalies, and opportunities for safety and reliability.
• Assist in managing unplanned incidents and major emergencies per procedures.
• Analyze protection targets, alarms, SCADA data, network configuration, contingency plans, load flow, and remedial action schemes.
• Support Transmission Operations day-to-day activities and update procedures.
• Review access applications and switch planned operations for safety and reliability impact.
• Provide safe access to the network for planned works and manage customer impact and notifications.
• Analyse project plans and remedial actions schemes for operability and maintainability.
