Job summary

Whizdom is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to join a technology-driven organisation with a national footprint. You will maintain, support, and enhance the network infrastructure while contributing to cloud transformation strategies.

A CCNA certification and hands-on Azure experience are highly valued. The role involves managing routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and Azure networking services across multiple sites, with a strong focus on security, performance, and documentation.

Qualifications

• CCNA certification or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in Network Administration or Infrastructure Administration.
• Experience with Cisco networking technologies (routing and switching).
• Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
• Experience with Fortinet, Meraki, Palo Alto, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune.
• Windows Server administration experience.
• Exposure to IaC or automation tools.
• Experience supporting multi-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and VPN solutions.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Manage and support Azure networking services including VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, and associated cloud infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless environments across multiple locations.
• Troubleshoot complex connectivity, performance, and security issues.
• Support cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure security best practices.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migration, and cloud transformation projects.
• Perform system monitoring, patching, maintenance, and capacity planning.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support when required.
• Assist with disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup strategies.

This role will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the organisation's network infrastructure while contributing to its ongoing cloud transformation strategy.

The successful candidate will bring a strong networking background, hold a CCNA certification (or equivalent experience), and possess hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure cloud environments. Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and VPN solutions.

• Manage and support Azure networking services including Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, and associated cloud infrastructure.

• Support cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure environments.

• Minimum 3+ years' experience in Network Administration or Infrastructure Administration roles.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
