Job summary

Balance Recruitment is helping a government agency in Canberra to hire 2 experienced .NET/SharePoint Developers for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on upgrading legacy systems, migrating to modern cloud-ready architectures, and enhancing SharePoint Online platforms.

You will work in an agile, multidisciplinary team to design, develop, test, and implement scalable software solutions while adhering to cyber security standards. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in city offices and 3 days WFH.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with SharePoint and/or Azure.
• Understanding of architectural principles and secure cloud-ready architectures.
• Experience in the government sector or with public sector projects is preferred.
• Active baseline clearance (or higher) is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyse existing applications and migrate from legacy to contemporary platforms.
• Develop APIs, business services, UI components, and Power Automate workflows.
• Build SharePoint web parts using SPFx, React and TypeScript.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and QA processes.
• Support automated build, CI/CD pipelines and security standards.

.Net/Sharepoint Developer - 12 mth contract - 2:3 Hybrid in CBD

This government agency is seeking experienced 2 Senior Software Developers to contribute to a critical application modernisation initiative within their Enterprise Platforms Branch.

The role

The successful candidates will play a key role in upgrading legacy business-critical revenue systems and enhancing SharePoint Online platforms that underpin the organisation.

This is a unique opportunity to work on projects transforming ageing Microsoft .NET Framework applications to modern, secure, and cloud-ready architectures aligned with Azure cloud standards. You will collaborate in a multidisciplinary, agile team that includes project managers, architects, testers, and business stakeholders to design, develop, test, and implement scalable software solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Analysing existing application functionalities and supporting the migration from legacy systems to contemporary platforms.
• Developing APIs, business services, user interface components, and complex Power Automate workflows.
• Building and enhancing custom SharePoint web parts using the SPFx framework, React, and TypeScript.
• Participating in technical assessments, documentation, code reviews, and quality assurance processes.
• Supporting automated build, deployment, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Ensuring adherence to stringent cyber security standards and departmental technology policies.
