Job summary

The Royal Hospital for Women is seeking an experienced Nursing Unit Manager Level 3 to lead the Newborn Care Centre, overseeing clinical leadership, staff management and multidisciplinary coordination. The role supports high-quality neonatal care within a leading tertiary hospital in Randwick.

Temporary full-time position until November 2027, 38 hours per week, salary around $154,876.43 per year plus superannuation, with opportunities for professional development and salary packaging.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
• Demonstrated leadership and management within a health care setting
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in management and leadership
• Knowledge and experience in Neonatal Unit management and delivery of health care services
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation
• Understanding of quality improvement and change management
• Demonstrable negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct and coordinate patient or client care at the ward or unit level
• Ensure nursing and/or midwifery practice is safe and efficient with quality improvement initiatives
• Lead and coordinate the nursing and multidisciplinary care team at the ward or unit level
• Monitor the business and management functions and processes of the ward or unit
• Coordinate recruitment, supervision of the specialist nursing team, performance development, strategic planning and management
• Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services for day-to-day NCC operations
• Engage with parents and multidisciplinary team to support family-centred care and best practice
