Formación

• ISO 9712 or equivalent certification relevant to the assigned work for experienced positions.
• Demonstrated competency in UT, MT/MPT, PT, ET and/or VT is highly regarded.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, reporting and client communication.

Responsabilidades

• Perform NDT using UT, MT/MPT, PT, ET and VT within your approved level of competency and OMS authorisation.
• Review job requirements, drawings, procedures, standards and acceptance criteria before work.
• Complete equipment and consumable checks, confirm calibration/verification status and suitability.
• Identify, evaluate and record inspection findings within your authorised scope.
• Prepare clear, accurate and traceable NDT records and reports.
• Identify limitations and elevate technical matters when required.
• Maintain equipment, photographs, raw data and job documentation in line with OMS requirements.
• Work safely and professionally at OMS facilities and client sites and communicate effectively with clients and team.
• Participate in training, competency assessments, field audits, quality activities and continual improvement.
• For Senior Technicians: lead field activities, support job coordination, supervise and mentor junior personnel, and maintain high standards of reporting and client communication.

OMS Engineering is expanding its NDT team and inviting applications from people at different stages of their careers, from those looking to enter the NDT industry through to experienced Level 2 and Senior NDT Technicians. The classification structure allows consideration of a broad range of applicants and placement at an appropriate level based on certification, demonstrated competency, practical experience and assigned responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

Perform NDT using applicable methods including UT, MT/MPT, PT, ET and VT within your approved level of competency and OMS authorisation.

Review job requirements, drawings, procedures, applicable standards and acceptance criteria before commencing work.

Complete required equipment and consumable checks and confirm calibration/verification status and suitability before use.

Identify, evaluate and accurately record inspection findings within your authorised scope.

Prepare clear, accurate and traceable NDT records and reports.

Identify access, coverage, equipment or procedural limitations and elevate technical matters when required.

Maintain equipment, photographs, raw data and job documentation in accordance with OMS requirements.

Work safely and professionally at OMS facilities and client sites and communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Participate in training, competency assessments, field audits, quality activities and continual improvement.

For Senior Technicians: lead field activities, support job coordination, supervise and mentor junior personnel, and maintain high standards of reporting and client communication.

About you

A strong safety and quality mindset, reliability and attention to detail.

Good communication, recordkeeping and willingness to learn and accept feedback.

For experienced positions, relevant ISO 9712 or equivalent certification appropriate to the work assigned.

Practical experience in UT, MT, PT, ET and/or VT is highly regarded.

For Senior Technician candidates, demonstrated independent field experience, strong reporting, client communication, leadership and mentoring capability.

Experience in mining, heavy industry, structural fabrication, welding inspection, asset integrity, shutdowns or similar field environments will be highly regarded.
