Job summary

Tender Loving Care Disability Services in Mulgrave VIC is seeking compassionate NDIS Support Workers to assist participants with social, community and daily living activities. • Current Working with Children Check, First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Driver's license and comprehensive car insurance.

Tender Loving Care is passionate about connecting people with disabilities to workers that can help them achieve their goals. Our Support Workers support our participants with social, community & recreational participation, in-home support & daily living activities, specialised transport & domestic support.

This is the role for you if you have:

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health, Community Services, or a related qualification.
• Relevant mental health qualifications and/or experience supporting people with psychosocial disabilities.
• Previous experience supporting participants with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
• Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Ability to remain calm, patient and professional when supporting participants experiencing behaviours of concern.
• Experience working with NDIS participants is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, documentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with families, support coordinators and other members of the care team.

You will be required to:

• Perform all duties with professionalism & care.
• Work under general guidance from the person seeking support/their family.
• Work within clearly defined guidelines
• Be responsible for managing your own time.
• Be able to work with limited supervision.
• Perform activities requiring the exercise of sound judgment, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity.
