Job summary

The Department of Defence is seeking an Engineer to join the RAN Maritime Warfare Centre (MWC) to apply and develop engineering and analytical skills for analysing complex naval platform signatures and evaluating threat susceptibility. You will work with measurement facilities, ranges and data to identify vulnerabilities and inform decisions.

Training on naval systems, signature analysis and machine learning will be provided; role requires ability to travel, potential night and field duties, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering from an Australian institution or equivalent recognized by Washington Accord.
• Knowledge of naval systems and signature analysis is desirable.
• Ability to apply engineering/analytical skills to underwater signature vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyse complex systems in the fields of platform signatures and evaluate threat susceptibility.
• Support data collection and analysis using range systems and measurement facilities.
• Develop and share knowledge; participate in training on naval systems, signature analysis and ML.
