Job summary

Port Stephens Council is seeking a Natural Areas Project Planner to lead our 3-year SRV ‘Nurturing Nature’ program. You will plan and manage bush regeneration, habitat restoration, and threat species projects while coordinating contractors and reporting progress from the PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace.

The role requires a relevant degree, strong project management, GIS and MS Office skills, and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Degree in Conservation Land Management, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Conservation Biology, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Experience with bushland maintenance techniques & equipment.
• Ability to co-develop and implement natural area works programs.
• Proven experience planning and delivering natural resource management projects.
• Strong project management skills including managing contractors, budgets, procurement, tendering, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the 3-year SRV ‘Nurturing Nature’ natural area works program.
• Plan, manage projects, and communicate progress for on-ground environmental works.
• Coordinate contractors and monitor outcomes, budgets, and timelines.
• Ensure alignment with environmental and safety standards.
