As the Business Unit Manager, you will lead and manage a remote sales organization within the organisation or related market sectors. You will drive revenue and profitability improvement plans, develop market share targets, and maintainkey account relationships within the division’s geographical region.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a construction-related field is desired; experience in lieu of education will be considered
  • 15 years of industry experience preferred
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in managing a remote sales organisation within the construction or related market sectors preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of the concrete & UGC industry, including production methods, materials, sales channels, and typical customers preferred.
  • Understanding the concrete construction and construction chemicals businesses, as well as the value drivers within the construction industry, is preferred.
  • Current or previous membership and participation in industry associations, such as the Concrete Institute of Australia (CIA).
  • Recognised person within the industry.
  • Established relationships with key stakeholders within the industry.
  • Business leadership (P&L) experience preferred.
  • Experience with organisational transformations preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Advanced executive selling skills and expertise.
  • Significant leadership and team-building skills.
  • Financial analysis and financial management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure standards of safety and environmental health for team and individual performance are met.
  • Consult with the Executive Management Team to develop Master Builders Solutions Admixture Systems Strategies.
  • Accountable for business group revenue and profitability improvement plans.
  • Manage direct reports and regularly review attainment to plan.
  • Inform management of the progress of the business plan and adjust the plan based on feedback received.
  • Develop, strengthen, and maintain key account relationships within the division’s geographical region.
  • Maintain leadership in National Industry associations.
  • Implement Company-wide initiatives, policies, and procedures into business group plans.
  • Meet face-to-face with key customers across the division regularly.
  • Lead the sales force to success, as measured by overall sales volume growth and other metrics.
  • Serve as a critical component of the Extended Leadership Team.
  • Support the yearly budgeting process and the strategic direction of the business line.
  • Mentor divisional, regional, and area managers towards leadership positions.
  • Drive usage of sales efficiency tools such as Salesforce.
  • Participate in Concrete Industry Management programs and other academic institutions.
  • Extensive travel – up to 50% of the time.
  • Work after hours as necessary.
  • Visit all production sites within the division regularly.
