Job summary

WSP is seeking an Aviation Planning Lead to shape the national growth strategy and strengthen client relationships across Australia. You will provide strategic and technical leadership for aviation planning, driving growth and delivering integrated solutions for operators, government agencies and stakeholders.

Lead multidisciplinary teams, identify opportunities, and ensure project delivery excellence while building capability and succession across the practice.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in aviation planning, strategy or transport infrastructure within a consultancy or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of airport planning, aviation demand forecasting, master planning and related infrastructure.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex aviation projects.
• Established aviation sector relationships with ability to develop and execute growth strategies.
• Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management and executive-level communication.
• Bachelor’s degree with professional accreditation; postgraduate study is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the national Aviation Planning growth strategy aligned with the business plan.
• Identify, prioritise and secure strategic opportunities across airport, government and private sector clients.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with airport executives, aviation authorities, regulators and investors.
• Lead capability development, workforce growth and recruitment of aviation planning talent.
• Drive technical excellence and innovation across master planning, forecasting, airfield and terminal planning, digital aviation and future mobility.
• Provide senior oversight on pursuits, governance, risk management and commercial decisions.
