Melbourne Grammar School, Grimwade House, seeks a Music Tutor for oboe and bassoon to deliver individual lessons and lead ensembles. The role involves teaching students Prep–Year 6 and supporting concert band activities.

The position starts in 2027 with initial hours of about half a day per week, growing as needed. A music education degree and teaching registration or WWC check are required or accessible via the school’s processes.

Melbourne Grammar School, Grimwade House (Prep – Year 6) is seeking a Music Tutor - Oboe & Bassoon to teach individual instrumental lessons, conduct Ensemble and assist with concert bands. The Oboe & Bassoon Music Tutor will work as a member of a highly dedicated Music Department, teaching students in an individual setting and through ensembles.

This role commences in 2027 and will involve sufficient work for 0.5 day a week initially.

You will

Teach individual instrumental lessons

Support the Teacher in Charge with teaching repertoire and lessons.

Possess exceptional interpersonal skills that enable you to maintain open communication with parents and colleagues.

Enjoy interacting with enthusiastic boys and girls who are keen to learn.

About you

Completion of a degree in music/instrumental education, or equivalent industry experience is required.

Experience in teaching Primary School aged students considered an advantage.

Must hold, or be willing to obtain registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, or a valid Employee Working with Children Check.
