Job summary

The Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong is seeking a part-time Classroom Music Teacher to support growth in faith and improve learning outcomes for students across the primary years. The role requires accreditation with NSW's education authority and a commitment to PB4L-based practice.

You will plan engaging music lessons within the school’s Catholic ethos, collaborate with teachers, families, and the wider school community, and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must have primary teaching qualifications for K–6.
• Accredited Level D for Religious Education within five years or commitment to obtain.
• NESA accreditation to teach in NSW required.

Job description

A temporary part time position commencing 28 January 2027 until 26 January 2028.

The role of Classroom Music Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

• Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
• Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning across all Key Learning Areas.
• Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
• Implement effective teaching strategies in Literacy and Numeracy.
• Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
• Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

• Proficient skills in using Google applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K–6.
• Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
• The applicant must be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
