Job summary

Rocksteady Music School Pty Ltd is expanding in Melbourne and seeks a high-energy School Performance Representative to bring live rock and pop music into primary schools. You will perform, engage young audiences, and inspire a lifelong love of music across multiple venues in Melbourne.

You will travel daily to schools, perform on stage, and build relationships with school staff while sharing the value of our music education offering.

Qualifications

• Requires strong live performance ability across stage and schools.
• Ability to play and sing simultaneously to a high standard.
• Multi-instrumental capability across at least three of drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver music incursions and workshops in primary schools across Melbourne.
• Excite and inspire kids to learn an instrument in a rock/pop band.
• Perform daily in front of children with energy and engagement.
• Build relationships with principals and teachers to secure school participation.
• Represent the program in a friendly, consultative way (no high-pressure selling).
• Travel to different schools across Melbourne every day.

Job Type: This is a full time, permanent role. Applicants must have working rights for the duration of the role. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer Visa Sponsorship for this role.

Location: Various locations across Melbourne, VIC
Job Start Date: 18th January 2027

Process: This role has a four stage recruitment process.
Stage 1: Application Form
Stage 2: Video Interview
Stage 3: Group Assessment Day - 16th November 2026.
Stage 4: Final Stage Observation taking place at the end of November.

About the role

As a School Performance Representative, you'll be the face and voice of our music program, bringing live music to the lives of primary-aged kids across Melbourne. You'll be engaging young audiences, creating unforgettable first experiences of live performance, and sparking a lifelong love of music. Every day you'll step into the shoes of that person who first inspired you to pick up an instrument.

We are looking for someone who enjoys engaging with kids, is great on the stage, passionate about music, and wants to make a genuine impact. You'll be the friendly face that inspires the next generation of rock and pop artists.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver music incursions and workshops in primary schools across Melbourne
• Excite and inspire primary-aged kids to want to learn an instrument in a rock and pop band
• Perform daily in front of the most energised and captivating audience in the world - children
• Build genuine relationships with principals, music coordinators and teachers to introduce our program and secure school participation
• Confidently represent our music education offering, communicating its value in a friendly, consultative way (no high-pressure selling)
• This role will require you to travel to different schools across the whole of Melbourne every day

What You'll Bring

• Excellent performance skills, with the ability to play and sing simultaneously to a high standard
• Multi-instrumental skills on at least three of the following: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both children and adults
• A dynamic, confident and approachable personality
• A passion for performing and public speaking
• A personable, people-focused attitude
• Sales experience is preferred, but not essential (training provided)
• The ability to work independently
• A full Australian driver license and your own vehicle
• Full-time permanent position, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, daytime only
