Job summary

Lauriston Girls’ School in Victoria seeks an outstanding educator and Junior School Music Specialist to lead the Junior School Music Program from ELC to Year 6, including the Junior School Strings Program.

The role blends classroom teaching with instrumental leadership and collaboration with families to foster a vibrant music culture. VIT registration and Kodály/Orff experience are essential; a potential 0.8 FTE option may be considered.

Qualifications

• VIT registration is required.
• Experience with Kodály or Orff frameworks.
• Proficiency as an orchestral strings specialist.
• Ability to lead singing-based rehearsals and year-level choirs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a vibrant Junior School Music Program (ELC–Year 6).
• Oversee Junior Classroom Music and Instrumental Program staff for best-practice pedagogy.
• Teach curriculum music and contribute to planning, assessment and design.
• Coordinate Junior Strings Program and year 2/3 strings initiatives.
• Participate in staff meetings and strategic planning for music.
