Job summary

MacKellar Group is expanding its mining operation near Nyngan and seeks experienced Multi-Skilled Production Operators to run a range of heavy mining equipment in a safety-focused environment.

You will operate assets including Haul Trucks, Dozers, Graders, Water Trucks, Loaders and Excavators, perform pre-start checks and report faults, and work closely with Supervisors to hit production targets while maintaining equipment care and high housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Open-cut production mining experience required.
• Operating Haul Trucks, Dozers and Graders (or Water Trucks/Loaders/Excavators) as needed.
• Verifiable operating history and appropriate RIIs.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to work well in a team and meet pre-employment/site access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate production mining equipment including Haul Trucks, Dozers and Graders.
• Operate Water Trucks, Loaders and Excavators as required.
• Complete pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks.
• Identify and report equipment faults and maintenance needs.
• Follow site safety procedures and operational standards.
• Work with Supervisors and fellow operators to achieve production targets.
• Maintain high housekeeping and care of equipment.

About the Role

As a Multi-Skilled Production Operator, you'll play an important role in delivering safe and efficient production outcomes. Working as part of a high-performing team, you'll operate a range of heavy mining equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, productivity, and equipment care.

• Operate production mining equipment including Haul Trucks, Dozers and Graders
• Operate Water Trucks, Loaders and Excavators as required
• Complete pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks
• Identify and report equipment faults and maintenance requirements
• Follow site safety procedures and operational standards
• Work closely with Supervisors and fellow operators to achieve production targets
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and take pride in equipment care

About You

To be successful, you'll have:

• Previous experience in an open-cut production mining environment
• Demonstrated operating experience on Haul Trucks, Dozers, plus at least one of the following:
  • Graders
  • Water Trucks
  • Loaders
  • Excavators
• Relevant RII competencies and/or a verifiable operating history
• A strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
• The ability to work effectively within a team
• A positive attitude, reliable attendance, and strong work ethic
• The ability to meet all pre-employment and site access requirements
