Job summary

Regional Construction Group is seeking a practical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs to residential apartment blocks and communal areas across Liverpool and surrounding Merseyside sites.

You will diagnose faults, complete repairs across a range of trades, plan each visit, manage materials and keep job sheets and photographs up to date, while working safely in occupied buildings and leaving areas clean and tidy.

Qualifications

• Experience in planned maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Ability to diagnose faults across trades.
• Competent in documentation and progress reporting.
• Willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair day-to-day defects in communal areas and plant rooms.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs including leaks and taps.
• Carry out joinery and ironmongery repairs.
• Patch plastering, painting and other small building fabric repairs.
• Carry out lighting repairs and basic electrical fault finding.
• Inspect for hazards and report concerns to office.
• Plan each visit and keep tools organized.
• Complete job sheets and photos.
• Work safely in occupied buildings and leave jobs tidy.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Liverpool

Location: Liverpool and surrounding Merseyside sites. This is a mobile property maintenance role involving travel between buildings.

Regional Construction Group (RCG) is recruiting a practical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs to residential apartment blocks and communal areas. You will investigate faults, complete repairs across a range of trades and keep the office informed of progress, materials and any further work required.

Permanent, full-time: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary based on experience and meeting National Minimum Wage requirements.

The work includes:

• Diagnosing and repairing day-to-day defects in communal areas, plant rooms and external spaces.
• Minor plumbing repairs, including leaks, taps, toilet components, waste pipes and straightforward blockages.
• Joinery and ironmongery repairs, including doors, handles, locks, skirting, architraves and boxing-in.
• Patch plastering, painting, decorating, sealant replacement and other small building fabric repairs.
• Lighting repairs, basic electrical fault-finding and emergency lighting checks where appropriately qualified, competent and authorised.
• Routine inspections, identifying hazards and reporting concerns with fire doors, access systems, lifts or building services for specialist attention where needed.
• Planning each visit, collecting materials and keeping tools, equipment and commonly used supplies organised.
• Completing clear job sheets, before-and-after photographs and updates on work completed or requiring further instruction.
• Working safely and considerately in occupied buildings, protecting surrounding areas and leaving each job clean and tidy.

Electrical, fire safety and other specialist work must be undertaken only within your qualifications, competence and authorisation. You will refer work requiring specialist support to the office.
