Job summary

Department for Education in South Australia is seeking a Multi-Disciplinary Support Assistant to work within Student Support Services across Yorke Peninsula, Mid North and Port Pirie. The role supports schools and preschools with children who have additional needs.

Under supervision, you will deliver screening and interventions, supported by a team including a manager, psychologist, speech pathologist, educator or social worker, with clear directions from senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Essential: Nil
• Desirable: Certificate in Disability Support/Disability or working towards completion of a degree or equivalent for graduate entry to the speech pathology, psychology, teaching, social work, audiology or occupational therapy professions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of screening and interventions in preschools and schools.
• Under the direction and supervision of a team manager, psychologist, speech pathologist, educator or social worker.
• Work with education support staff and families with clearly demarcated work instructions.
• Be part of a culturally responsive team focused on Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing and being.
