Job summary

A national delivery service is seeking a Medium Rigid Truck Driver to join their team in Melbourne. You will be responsible for delivering goods in a safe, efficient manner, being the face of the company in your community. Candidates must hold an MR license and be fit to handle various freight. Overview

$34.81ph + 12% super + Leave entitlements + RDO

Multiple positions available for an immediate start. 12 months fixed term contract with the potential for permanent employment.

About the opportunity

Are you motivated by getting behind the wheel of one of our iconic blue trucks to deliver for customers? As our Medium Rigid Truck Driver, you’ll be the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You’ll be on the road as a staple of your community.

You’ll be
  • Able to drive manual transmission MR Trucks
  • Completing deliveries and pickups in our loose bulk team
  • Safely loading your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility
  • Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
  • Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups
Roster
  • Monday to Friday
  • 7.30am – 4pm (plus daily overtime)
  • 12-month fixed term contract with the potential to move to permanent
Pay rate
  • $33.47ph (Grade 4)
  • + 12% superannuation
  • + Leave entitlements
  • + Monthly RDO
About you

You’re a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable person who values autonomy as well as teamwork. You’re passionate about making a difference in the community.

You’ll also need to
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Hold a relevant truck licence (MR minimum)
  • Be fit enough to load and unload freight items of all shapes, sizes and weights, frequently in and out of a truck
  • Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility
  • Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills
  • Meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kgs or less
  • Be prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening and national police checks
