Western Downs Regional Council is seeking a Mower Operator to maintain council parks assets and operate horticultural plant and equipment across multiple sites in Jandowae. The role supports the Parks and Recreation team and requires timely delivery of tasks.

The Opportunity

The Mower Operator is responsible for undertaking of a range of horticultural duties as directed including the maintenance of Council’s parks assets and the operation of horticultural plant and equipment.

This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include:

Operating a range of horticultural plant and equipment in Councils parks, gardens and cemeteries;

Carrying out maintenance to park assets and part of the Parks and Recreation team;

Completing allocated tasks consistently within agreed time frames

About Yourself

Suitability for this position will be based on experience, application, achievement, and potential in the following critical competencies as they link to the key responsibilities for this position. Proven/Demonstrated experience in:

Operation of relevant horticultural plant/and or equipment including ride on mowers;

Demonstrated competence/experience in amenity horticulture;

Successfully working as a team member when undertaking construction and maintenance activities and meet the required standards in a timely manner;

Good problem-solving ability (root cause identification; process);

Sound written and verbal communication skills.
